Liverpool ‘dealt major blow’ after Manchester City transfer development
Liverpool will be frustrated as they look set to lose yet another young talent to Manchester City.
A rising star swapping Anfield for the Etihad Stadium is something Liverpool supporters have seen before after Raheem Sterling’s controversial move to Manchester back in 2015.
The talented winger became the most expensive English footballer ever at the time, with his £49million move to Man City heavily criticised by Liverpool supporters.
Now, Liverpool are set to lose another youngster to the blue side of Manchester, and this one could potentially sting more due to how the rivalry has developed between the two clubs over recent years.

Kaylum Moss set to leave Liverpool and join Man City
With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid and Ibrahima Konate also linked with an Anfield exit, Liverpool have had plenty of reasons to be annoyed so far in the transfer window.
And that frustration looks set to continue as, according to Fabrizio Romano (19 June), Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Kaylum Moss from Liverpool, with the clubs currently working on the key details surrounding the move.
Moss is considered a highly-rated talent at Under-15 level. Therefore, the teenager’s departure is not something that will affect Arne Slot’s title bid in his second season.
However, it could come back to bite Liverpool in the future. This type of move is nothing new from the Cityzens, who tend to stockpile young talent before either embedding them into their first team or selling them for a hefty profit elsewhere.
Whilst there is no guarantee how Moss will develop as a player, seeing the youngster tear it up in a sky blue shirt would be a bitter pill to swallow for Liverpool.
Man City’s poaching of talent is frustrating
Liverpool are not the only academy to be affected by the poaching of talent from Man City.
While City’s academy and facilities are undoubtedly top-notch and a very good place for young players to develop, the Cityzens are not organically producing many of these talents themselves and instead signing them from elsewhere.
With Pep Guardiola heavily investing again this summer, it is clear that the path to the first team at the Etihad is an unlikely one.
Once these players have been developed, City can then cash in on these sellable assets for profits to help balance the books and help with their PSR.
