Liverpool blow as Premier League fixtures Mohamed Salah will miss revealed

Liverpool already know they will miss Mohamed Salah for part of next season.

Salah was phenomenal for Arne Slot last term, with the Egyptian registering 29 goals and 18 assists to fire Liverpool to their second Premier League title.

Bringing the title back to Anfield looks set to be a more difficult task for the Reds next year, though.

Manchester City have splashed the cash on Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait Nouri and Tijjani Reijnders already, whilst Arsenal continue to be in the market for a striker to complete their front line.

Salah to miss multiple games due to AFCON involvement

The Reds are set to sign Florian Wirtz to add to Jeremie Frimpong; however, playing a significant portion of their season without Salah will surely complicate things.

Salah will be unavailable for Liverpool whilst he represents Egypt in the AFCON.

The tournament is set to run from December 21 to January 18, 2026, meaning the winger could miss six Premier League matches if Egypt progress deep into the competition.

Among the fixtures that Salah could miss are away trips to both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Fixtures Salah will miss if Egypt get to the final of AFCON
Tottenham (A) 20 December
Wolves (H) 27 December
Leeds United (H) 30 December
Fulham (A) 3 January
Arsenal (A) 7 January
Burnley (H) 17 January
Salah will miss some big games next season.

It is worth bearing in mind that these fixtures do not include any potential games that Salah could miss in the Carabao or FA Cup, as Slot’s side will likely compete on all fronts next season.

Attacking reinforcements necessary in Salah’s absence

If Liverpool want to win the Premier League again, then they will need to add to their forward line.

Salah’s remarkable output has been known to slow down once he has returned from playing in AFCON, and understandably so.

Signing a player such as Bradley Barcola could be exactly what Slot needs to succeed again in his second season in charge.

It would be unreasonable to expect a 33-year-old Salah to reach the heights of last campaign, particularly with an international competition to play midway through the season.

Surrounding last season’s Golden Boot winner with players such as Wirtz and Barcola would help ease the attacking burden that has heavily weighed on Salah’s shoulders for multiple years at Anfield.

Slot will need to take this into consideration.
