‘FSG to welcome Isak with arms wide open’ as Liverpool transfer news emerges
Liverpool could be preparing to make a budget-smashing offer for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak this summer.
The Reds have already completed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, and moves for Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz are thought to be well advanced.
Any deal for Isak could take the Reds’ spending north of £300million, with Fenway Sports Group (FSG) keen to provide Arne Slot with the tools to build on a Premier League title-winning first season.

Liverpool move for Isak not to be ruled out
Isak is the talk of the Premier League – the Swede enjoyed a monstrous season for Newcastle, scoring 23 league goals and netting the winner in the Carabao Cup final.
The striker, at 25, has likely not yet hit his prime, but has already firmly established himself among the world’s best forwards.
A move to Liverpool would send shockwaves around the Premier League, and, despite the astronomic price tag set by Newcastle, it could be possible.
Alex Crook, when asked about the potential of a new number nine arriving at Anfield this summer, said: “Liverpool are still in the market for another forward. Alexander Isak would be their dream target.
“Are they going to pay massive money for him? Newcastle are quoting £150million as their asking price. Possibly – don’t rule it out.”
Those last four words should be enough to excite even the most sceptical of Liverpool fans.

Isak to Liverpool would be all-star-esque
Premier League winning campaigns can never be guaranteed, but it would be incredibly difficult to pick anyone other than Liverpool should they land Isak.
Premier League chiefs have, so far, resisted Americanisation – extravagant half-time shows, in-game pitch-side interviews, and overwhelming adverts.
But Isak’s move to an already star-studded Liverpool team would see a footballing equivalent of the NBA all-stars.
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Wirtz and Isak would form a Chicago Bulls-esque big four, supported by a collection of Premier League heavyweights.
Of course, football is not played on paper, but the mere sight of such a lineup would be enough to strike fear into the heart of any opposing defender.
It is easy to get carried away, and Liverpool fans should exercise caution.
Isak has not yet demonstrated a desire to leave Newcastle, and the Magpies, having achieved Champions League qualification last season, have no immediate reason to sell off their best player.
But the possibility presents an interesting question for FSG – should Liverpool aim higher than just the Premier League next season?
