Doak told to join Everton in deal that’d land Liverpool millions – Exclusive

Ben Doak could be set to cross the Merseyside divide in a rare transfer between Liverpool and Everton.

Doak shone on loan at Middlesbrough before injury curtailed his campaign in February in a devastating twist.

The 19-year-old winger is unlikely to feature in Arne Slot‘s plans anytime soon, given that he features from the right-hand side and Mohamed Salah has recently extended his contract.

Therefore, he could be allowed to leave permanently, and the Reds’ Merseyside rivals could be the perfect destination if he does depart.

Liverpool star Doak could join Everton

Everton have been constantly linked with the Liverpool star and desperately need attacking reinforcements in the transfer window.

The Reds rejected bids around the £15million mark in the winter and could seek up to £30m for the former Celtic youth ace.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that Doak could join the Blues and the divide would not prove too much, given the obstacles that the Scotsman has to face to get into the Anfield first-team.

“They can loan him again, and if he carries on doing the things he was doing for Boro for half a season, his value goes up again, so it is a win-win.

“I think one thing is for certain, he is not going to be playing for Liverpool this season, he will be playing somewhere else, and from his personal perspective I would say it is really good if he can make a move to an established Premier League club like Everton.”

Liverpool fans want Branthwaite in return

The move makes sense for the player and for the Toffees as Darke states, but Slot could regret sanctioning a departure, given Doak’s huge potential, if he achieves it with Moyes’ side.

However, he needs to be playing regularly and not constantly being sent on loan, as that will not serve his development in the long term, as he needs to be starring in the Premier League on a weekly basis.

Liverpool supporters do not want to lose the six-cap Scotland star, but they would come round to a deal if Jarrad Branthwaite comes the other way.
