Viktor Gyokeres and Scott Carson sign – Richard Hughes’ Liverpool transfer XI
Liverpool look set for a busy summer filled with both big-name signings and a number of sales.
The Reds are coming off the back of a Premier League title win and will be keen to build on the success of Arne Slot’s debut campaign.
This will see Rich Hughes tasked with working within financial boundaries to build a squad ready to compete domestically and in the Champions League once again.
With that in mind, Liverpool News has drawn up a starting line-up of potential transfers that could be made throughout the upcoming window.

Scott Carson could return to Liverpool
After losing Caoimhin Kelleher, there will still be a need for a new goalkeeping option, even with the signings of Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi.
An experienced Premier League head could prove to be exactly what is needed, with a return for Carson a potentially wise move on a free transfer.
After many league titles with Manchester City, the 39-year-old could be on the lookout for a new club this summer, and where better than Anfield, nearly 20 years after his departure.
The ex-England international could be joined by Milos Kerkez, who appears to be edging closer to a Merseyside move from Bournemouth.
This duo could be joined by Illia Zabarnyi, Yann Bisseck and Ezri Konsa, who would all add excellent squad depth to Slot’s side.

Florian Wirtz set for record breaking Liverpool move
It is fair to say that midfield reinforcements wouldn’t go amiss in L4, with a different variety of options potentially needed.
This could see Wirtz join for a Premier League record fee to help secure the number ten role in the Liverpool squad for years to come.
As a result, less attack-minded options could be of interest to Slot this window, with Wolves ace Joao Gomes potentially representing a useful option.
The Brazilian Premier League interest could be of great use, especially alongside someone like Fermin Lopez, who could be available this summer.
Barcelona may be willing to part ways with the 22-year-old, who could prove to be a huge coup for the Reds moving into the new campaign.

Viktor Gyokeres could snub Manchester United for Liverpool transfer
There is no doubt that a recognised striker is a want at Anfield and there aren’t many better right now than Gyokeres right now.
Year | Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2024-25 | Sporting Lisbon | 52 | 54 | 12 |
2023-24 | Sporting Lisbon | 50 | 43 | 14 |
2022-23 | Coventry City | 50 | 22 | 12 |
2021-22 | Coventry City | 47 | 18 | 5 |
The Sweden international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but if Slot came knocking, a move to the Premier League champions would surely be more appealing.
In contrast, wide options at Anfield are going to struggle for guaranteed minutes and need to have an element of versatility to their game.
This could make Alex Baena and Bradley Barcola highly useful options if they are to have a move to England in mind this summer.
The latter could prove to be a tougher sell after winning the Champions League, but the chance of working with Mohamed Salah may be an attractive prospect.
