Liverpool's summer transfer window is already taking shape after winning their 20th League title.

Arne Slot is looking to build on his successful debut campaign with new talent already heading to Merseyside.

Liverpool have already secured Jeremie Frimpong as their first signing of the summer, confirming a £29.5million transfer fee for the 24-year-old wing-back.

The Premier League champions are also close to breaking the English transfer record for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.

Negotiations are expected to continue for German international Wirtz, despite a second bid of £130m being rejected.

Liverpool also look keen on another Bundesliga star, with Premier League rivals in the mix.

Liverpool hold 'initial talks' with Bundesliga talent Woltemade

Stuttgart talent Nick Woltemade could become the latest attacker to move to Merseyside this summer.

As reported by Caughtoffside (5 June), Liverpool have joined several clubs holding initial talks with the German international.

The Reds are set to compete with fellow Premier League clubs West Ham, Arsenal and Brighton, as well as rivals Everton, for a move that could cost around £42m.

The 23-year-old has also attracted interest from European teams with the likes of Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma keeping an eye on the forward.

Woltemade has had a successful season at Stuttgart after joining last summer, scoring in all of their final four matches of the Bundesliga season.

He also scored the first goal in Stuttgart's 4-2 victory over Arminia Bielefeld, helping the German side win the DFB-Pokal cup competition and qualify for the Europa League.

Woltemade would be a valuable addition to Slot's squad

Slot is already beginning to strengthen Liverpool's attack ahead of next season, with the future of Mohammed Salah also confirmed.

However, with the exit of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz on the cards, there are still positions for Liverpool to fill.

Woltemade could become an important target for the Reds ahead of next season, as the German international could take a role as a backup option.

Liverpool's Premier League victory was the highlight of their season, yet fans will expect stronger performances in the FA Cup and Champions League next season.

For Slot to push for success across all competitions, squad rotation will remain important, meaning strong reinforcements such as Woltemade could be crucial for Liverpool.
