Met Office weather update ahead of Bruce Springsteen gigs at Anfield

Anfield has seen plenty of joy this year as Arne Slot led Liverpool to the Premier League title.

In his first season on Merseyside, Slot adapted to the English top flight with no qualms and comfortably led his side to become champions.

There is plenty of work to be done over the summer transfer window, as the Dutchman looks to create a squad that can push for a second successive Premier League victory next term.

Jeremie Frimpong has already made the move to Liverpool and Florian Wirtz is expected to be next.

To finance these big money moves, the Fenway Sports Group keep events inside the stadium ticking over during the close-season.

And that is why Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are taking to the stage this week.

Met Office update provided for Springsteen

Springsteen has returned to the UK this summer to perform a number of concerts as part of The Land of Hopes and Dreams tour.

After a series of dates in Manchester, the American comes to Liverpool this week with shows at Anfield on Wednesday (4 June) and Saturday (7 June).

Although the weather was glorious last week, the harsh wind and rain has returned of late, which isn’t ideal for those who are going to be standing on a pitch watching the gig.

Thankfully for those attending the Wednesday date, it looks like the weather is on their side.

The Met Office has reported (4 June) that temperatures are expected to be between 13 and 17 degrees during the show, with 30 per cent the maximum chance of rain.

Saturday’s weather is a bleak story, though.

Although temperatures are expected to be between 13 and 15 degrees, the chance of rain ranges from 60 to 80 per cent during the gig.

Anfield events to boost the Liverpool squad

Plenty of Premier League clubs have their grounds being used for concerts and other events over the summer months and it’s a strong way to generate cash.

Liverpool are hoping to finance another surge for the title next season.

While the stadiums are empty, Springsteen will be bringing in plenty of money with two sold-out shows.

Slot is set to have an exciting summer, with the opportunity of spending big on Wirtz and looking ahead to further additions too.

As long as FSG continue making the most out of their facilities, the Reds will remain in position to challenge for – and indeed win – major titles.
