Liverpool table mega Florian Wirtz bid as Bayer Leverkusen respond
Liverpool are constantly haggling with Bayern Leverkusen as they push to sign Florian Wirtz this summer.
The German side rejected the Reds’ first offer for the 22-year-old superstar, worth £105million.
The Kopites responded with an improved bid of £109m, with news already filtering out of Germany with a response for those at Anfield.

Liverpool’s second bid for Wirtz rejected
Christian Falk has reported on X (2 June) that Liverpool’s second bid was unsuccessful, as the Premier League champions are more than £15m short of Leverkusen’s £127m valuation.
To bring Wirtz to Anfield, it’ll take a record-breaking fee, topping the prices paid for Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo, and Jack Grealish.
Liverpool are looking to sell the likes of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Harvey Elliot to raise £315m for an expensive transfer window.
Arne Slot’s side have been successful in talks with Leverkusen players this window, as Jeremie Frimpong has already joined to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Leverkusen will also be losing a key figure at the heart of their invincible season in their 2023/2024 Bundesliga-winning campaign.
Xabi Alonso, like Alexander-Arnold, has left for Real Madrid, and replacing him will be Erik Ten Hag.
Wirtz is worth every penny
Wirtz has been on the radar of Bayern Munich and Man City, but Liverpool are desperate to land him.
He was sensational this season as his side finished second in the Bundesliga, but was more impressive under the biggest lights in Europe.
In the German league, the midfielder had 22 goal involvements, but he dazzled with six goals in nine games in the Champions League.
Wirtz is said to knit attacks and gives his side constant movement in the attacking phase. He’s a great passer and always looks for a give-and-go.
Anfield will be an even scarier away trip for all opponents if the L4 side are successful in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
Wirtz wants Liverpool, and he could prove vital in their defence of their title and a push to win even more trophies next season.
