Wirtz to Liverpool: ‘Right noises’ emerge from Anfield chiefs in transfer update
Florian Wirtz may have taken another step closer to completing a switch to Liverpool.
The Germany international looks set to complete a Premier League record move from Bayer Leverkusen in the coming weeks as talks continue.
This could see the 22-year-old become the Reds’ second signing of the summer already after bringing in Jeremie Frimpong from the Bundesliga side.
It looks as if a deal for the attacking midfielder could now be in the pipeline after a fresh update emerged from the Anfield hierarchy.

Liverpool chiefs keen to complete Wirtz deal
It had felt as if the L4 club were in need of a new forward after a difficult season for both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota across all competitions.
With that being said, Arne Slot has instead set his sights on the German who could prove to be one of the best players in the Premier League if successful.

No deal has yet gone through, but reports of a £105million offer from the Reds could be enough to tempt Erik ten Hag’s side into an agreement this summer.
The higher-ups at the AXA Training Centre have clearly given this approach the green light after what they’ve seen from Wirtz this campaign.
This has been echoed by Mark McAdam on Sky Sports News (1 June), who has reported why Anfield chiefs were prepared to spend on the number 10.
He said: “I think the key thing in regards to all of this is that the player made the right noises to the Liverpool hierarchy to suggest that he wasn’t just keen on the Premier League, but joining the Premier League champions.”
Wirtz to Liverpool looks to be close to completion
The Anfield board haven’t been known for their wild spending in recent years, with complaints typically rife at periods under Jurgen Klopp.
That has often seen the Reds seek out good value where they can find it with the likes of Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah being particular high points in the current squad.
As a result, the fact that over £100m is being made available for Wirtz just shows how highly rated the Leverkusen star is right now.
Alongside Frimpong, the Merseyside ouftit look set to kick start their summer business in excellent fashion with players who look likely to fit the mould under Slot.
