Liverpool already have eye on next transfer for after Florian Wirtz agreement

Liverpool are looking to complete their transfer business early, having already signed Jeremie Frimpong.

The Reds are looking to raid Bayer Leverkusen again already, with Florian Wirtz looking likely to join for more than £100million.

With Liverpool close to signing the German, they will now turn their heads elsewhere, with Richard Hughes and Arne Slot pushing hard.

Liverpool to accelerate talks for Milos Kerkez

Having already replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold with Frimpong, Liverpool are turning their attention to strengthening their left-hand side.

The Daily Mail has reported in its print edition (31 May, pg 108) that once the Reds seal a deal for Wirtz, they will look to sign Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

The Hungarian has impressed for the Cherries and has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are among the many clubs that have shown interest, with a move to Merseyside now looking more likely for the 21-year-old.

The Hungarian would join fellow international Dominik Szoboszlai at the Reds if a deal is finalised.

Kerkez delivered seven goal contributions from left-back this season as he helped Bournemouth to their record points tally in the top tier.

The left-back joined the Cherries in July 2023 from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar and featured 28 times in his first season on the south coast.

Liverpool getting their business done early

The quick and efficient replacement of Alexander-Arnold with Frimpong, who has just as much attacking output, will turn the heads of other potential title contenders.

The 24-year-old has 43 goal contributions in his last two seasons, including six assists in the Champions League this season.

Liverpool have been active in the summer transfer window so far, and it is expected that several players could leave following the spree of early business.

Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have all been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, making big-money moves possible to help cover some heavy spending.

Any further incomings could depend on whether Liverpool can move players on to create extra funds, with massive squad changes coming.

Despite winning the Premier League title, it is clear that Slot is hungry for more and is ready for the challenge of competing on more fronts next season.
