Robbie Fowler explodes in furious argument about Liverpool parade incident

Robbie Fowler didn’t hold back when discussing Paul Doyle’s alleged involvement in the Liverpool parade crash.

The Reds drew their final game of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield on 25 May before lifting the league trophy.

Arne Slot’s team celebrated the Premier League victory with their fans the next day, but the title parade took an unfortunate turn after people were injured when a car drove into fans in the city centre.

Doyle, 53, is accused of dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and other charges [BBC], but that hasn’t stopped some social media users from making daft statements, leaving Fowler furious.

Fowler slams defence of Liverpool parade crash accused

Fowler slammed one social media user for seemingly defending the accused in the Liverpool parade crash.

The Reds icon hit back when fans were blamed for Doyle’s alleged actions on Monday (26 May) on Water Street.

When one user blamed the Merseyside outfit fans for apparently instigating the 53-year-old, Fowler wrote on X (30 May): “Bit of a hypocrite then aren’t you? You’ve called them ‘the mob’ after seeing a clip, you don’t know what happened prior. That clip with ‘the mob’ is 500 yards away from the actual area where this person mowed down innocent families.

The social media user continued to criticise fans by saying “the first part looks as though they were smashing his car up just for being there”, and the Reds icon responded: “I mean, just using my head here, but do you not think something happened before people hit out at the car?

“Do you think people celebrating a great time just thought, ‘here’s a car, let’s all attack it’. Maybe change your narrative and sympathise with innocent families who have been injured instead of the absolute weapon who allegedly swerved into those who have been injured.”

Premier League title celebrations subdued at Anfield

Liverpool beat Arsenal to the Premier League trophy, securing their 20th top-flight title in the process.

Jurgen Klopp won the league after a 30-year wait at Anfield, but COVID restrictions deterred fans from celebrating too much in public.

Reds supporters were looking forward to celebrating with their team after not getting the opportunity of a bus parade in 2020, but what was supposed to be a joyful day turned tragic.

Slot won the League Managers Association’s Manager of the Year award and the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy, but declined an invite to the event in solidarity with the victims of the Liverpool parade crash.

The footballing and world community have come together in this moment, which is always a good thing to see.

The Reds faithful are praying for the speedy recovery and safety of everyone who was hurt during the incident.
