Arne Slot wants Hugo Ekitike already after Wirtz deal at Liverpool
Liverpool are moving quickly with their summer transfer business, with securing a new striker now one of the Reds’ priorities.
Looking to complete their business early, Arne Slot’s side have already made significant strides ahead of the transfer window opening.
Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly set to become Liverpool’s first signing, as the Anfield club looks to reinforce both full-back positions.
The Reds are also aiming to strengthen their attack, with Florian Wirtz likely to be one of Liverpool’s key signings for next season.
They may not stop there, though, with Hugo Ekitike now a serious option.

Ekitike top of striker list for Liverpool
Eintracht Frankfurt star Ekitike has emerged as a key target for Liverpool as they look for a new striker for the start of the new season.
Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg (28 May) has reported that the Reds are seriously considering the 22-year-old.
Slot and the Liverpool board are keen on bringing in a new number nine, however, they face competition from Chelsea, who are also in the market for the Frenchman.
Another potential hurdle is his price tag; Frankfurt are said to want £84million, which could prove to be a stumbling block for the champions.
With Liverpool already looking likely to spend big on the signing of Wirtz, securing Ekitike would require a significant financial outlay.
Liverpool in need of a new striker
After winning the Premier League last season, one clear issue in Liverpool’s attack was the lack of a consistent striker.
Darwin Nunez struggled with consistency and now looks likely to leave this summer, with his eyes set on a new challenge.

Hugo Ekitike | 33 | 15 | 8 | 2563 |
Ekitike could provide Liverpool with the striker option they’ve been searching for over the past couple of seasons after his breakthrough.
The forward has already faced English opposition this year, scoring in the first leg of Frankfurt’s Europa League clash against Tottenham.
There will be question marks over his price tag and whether he can translate his Bundesliga form into the Premier League, though.
However, he has the potential to be the spark the Reds need up front to push for more silverware.
