Liverpool star appears to send farewell message amid Anfield exit rumours

Liverpool lifted their 20th league title after drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Anfield, but it may have been the final outing for one player.

Arne Slot’s side won the Premier League at a canter this season, with the title being wrapped up in April.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made his last appearance for the club before he moves to Real Madrid in the summer.

However, the right-back may not be the only player to leave Anfield as Arne Slot is set to transform his squad.

Harvey Elliott appears to send goodbye message

Along with the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, Elliott has also been linked with a move away from Liverpool.

The English midfielder has had limited game time under Slot this season in the league.

Following the trophy lift at Anfield and the celebrations that followed, Elliott took to his personal Instagram account.

The 22-year-old posted a collection of photos with the caption: “Memories for life! Thank you reds.” This was followed by a heart emoji.

Time for Elliott to leave Liverpool

Elliott is a player who possesses real quality, but it is evident that Slot does not fancy the Englishman.

The midfielder has hovered in and around the first team for a few years now, but has never been able to fully cement his position in the starting XI at Liverpool.

With the Reds seemingly in for Florian Wirtz, Elliott would drop even further down the pecking order if the German were to sign.

To prevent his career from stagnating, the creative midfielder should seek a move away in the summer to pursue regular first-team football.

This would be a win-win for both Liverpool and the player.

Elliott would likely command a sizeable enough fee due to his experience for his young age, and the fact that he is English will almost certainly raise his price.

The Reds could then use this money to get the signing of Wirtz over the line, or they could use it to reinvest elsewhere in the squad.
