Liverpool fans fume at new Jurgen Klopp development – ‘Disgusting’

Jürgen Klopp is regarded as one of the greatest managers in Liverpool’s history.

The German took the Reds from mid-table mediocrity to Champions League and Premier League glory.

He decided to end his nine-year Anfield stay after the 2023/24 season and concluded it with an emotional farewell.

The 56-year-old is currently employed as the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull but could return to management sooner than expected.

Klopp’s record at Liverpool.

He was recently linked with the Real Madrid job, but the latest development may be even more controversial.

A report from Italian outfit La Stampa (19 May) claimed that he has agreed to join AS Roma.

It states that the former Borussia Dortmund manager said yes to the role on Sunday (18 May) after a move to a different club fell through.

Liverpool fans furious with Klopp latest

The move is a contentious one because of what a minority of Roma fans did to Sean Cox before the 2017/18 Champions League semi final first leg on Merseyside.

Before the contest, a group of ultras beat the Reds fan, leaving him with life-changing injuries.

It is safe to say that fans of the L4 outfit would be rightfully furious if Klopp were to be appointed in the Italian capital, especially as he is aware of what happened to Cox, having met him in April 2024.

One fan even labelled the potential switch as worse than Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

Of course, Klopp deserves the benefit of the doubt, it is just a report for now with nothing confirmed and it may well prove to be nonsense.

Roma is exactly the kind of club that would fit Klopp, given its status as a fallen giant, having not won the Serie A title since the 2000/01 campaign.

The German loves an underdog story; however, if he did take the job, he would trash his Liverpool legacy forever and leave a sour taste in the mouth of many supporters.
