Darwin Nunez in ‘crazy’ Jose Mourinho twist as Liverpool offer readied

Jose Mourinho is offering Darwin Nunez an escape route out of Liverpool this summer transfer window.

Nunez’s spell as a Liverpool player is guaranteed to end at the end of the season after he failed to impress under Arne Slot.

The Uruguay international has left much to be desired despite playing 45 games, including 17 starts, across all competitions this term.

It is worth noting that the centre-forward only has seven goals for his appearances for Liverpool this season.

Nevertheless, he is not short of options, as he looks to put an end to his three-year association with the Reds.

Mourinho wants Nunez at Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are interested in signing Nunez from Liverpool to strengthen their attack this summer, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish outlet reported via their website on Wednesday (14 May) that Mourinho’s side may even make an offer for the 25-year-old soon.

Fenerbahce are not the only club interested in acquiring Nunez’s services this summer, with Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Napoli and RB Leipzig also keen.

However, Al-Hilal appear to be in the front seat to sign the former Benfica ace, having already made a move.

The Saudi Pro League giants are ready to offer £50.6million to snap him up from Liverpool and are also preparing a lucrative proposal for him.

Liverpool to cash in on Nunez

The intense competition for Nunez‘s signature is good news for Liverpool as they would be able to pocket a hefty transfer fee for him, having forked out at least £76.8m for him.

Meanwhile, the opportunity to work under Mourinho is a crazy prospect for the striker, as the Portuguese tactician might be the right man to tap into his potential and attitude.

Having already worked with Jurgen Klopp and Marcelo Bielsa, Nunez could also become one of the fortunate players in modern football if he joins Mourinho at Fenerbahce.

Working under those three managers would itself be a massive achievement for any player, let alone Nunez.
