Liverpool ‘to squeeze’ Real Madrid for Alexander-Arnold early exit – Exclusive
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to leave Liverpool but he could do even earlier than expected.
The 26-year-old will depart the Anfield club at the end of his contract on 30 June after 20 years with the Merseysiders.
The England star is widely expected to join Real Madrid, and the Spanish giants want him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu by 18 June, for the start of the Club World Cup.

Liverpool to play hardball with Real Madrid
Liverpool have been urged to cash in on Alexander-Arnold to avoid a bitter exit, although the crowd at Anfield have already turned on him.
Finance expert Dan Plumley believes that the Reds may decide to rinse Los Blancos if they want to release the right-back from his contract early.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, he said: “It is an interesting factor in this one, isn’t it, I guess yeah, for me, if they can and they are able to do that, then they will, right, that is ultimately where we are at with this.
“You’re not going to not, if that makes sense, if there is any chance they can, I’m sure they will be looking to squeeze as much as they can out of Real Madrid if they want him early.
“Anything they can get on top of that, linked to the Club World Cup, they will definitely be looking at that in negotiations.
“It’s how far you push it isn’t it, but you can imagine with the way it has played out, and obviously the situation regarding his contract and things.
You can imagine Liverpool playing a bit of hardball as well, and if Real Madrid want to get the deal done, in the negotiations it is going to happen isn’t it.”

Alexander-Arnold early exit would be perfect for Liverpool fans
Many objections from Liverpool supporters are over the fact that the Reds will not get a fee for their homegrown star.
Stats | Matches | Goals | Assists |
Alexander-Arnold | 353 | 23 | 92 |
That anger boiled over when the academy graduate was introduced in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal when he was booed onto the pitch, to the dismay of Gary Lineker.
Some fans are so bitter about the issue that they want him to be nowhere near the squad on the remaining matchday and to be banished from the end-of-season parade on 26 May.
However, surely it will soften the blow a little bit if they can force Madrid to pay more than they wanted to?
