Sam Allardyce’s bizarre Alexander-Arnold claim will enrage Liverpool fans
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Liverpool has been a hot topic throughout May so far.
Despite Liverpool lifting the Premier League title for the second time, their campaign has now ended on a sour note.
Arne Slot was unable to convince Alexander-Arnold to stay at the Reds beyond this current campaign.
This has sparked outrage from the Anfield faithful as they feel the full-back betrayed the Merseyside club.
Now, former Premier League manager Sam Allardyce has weighed in on the situation, believing that supporters should be “happy” about his impending move to Real Madrid.

Allardyce believes Liverpool fans ‘will be happy’ about Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid
Alexander-Arnold’s proposed move to Real Madrid has been controversial.
The full-back announced he was leaving the Reds at the start of May upon his contract expiry.
As a result, Liverpool fans booed Alexander-Arnold in the draw against Arsenal, showing their disapproval to the academy product.

Appearances | 353 |
Goals | 23 |
Honours | Premier Leauge x2, Champions League x1, FA Cup x1, League Cup x1, Club World Cup x1, UEFA Super Cup x1, Community Shield x1 |
Yet, former England manager Allardyce insists that the Anfield faithful should be “pleased” that he may be going to Real Madrid despite the current backlash.
According to the Liverpool Echo (13 May), he said: “I’m sure 95% of Liverpool fans will have appreciated what Trent has done, with him being there from being a kid and coming up through the ranks, and what he’s won with them.
“They’ll be sad he’s leaving but pleased he’s going to Real Madrid.
“The booing is not good, is it? It’s not like he’s just going for the money. The money will probably be much bigger than Liverpool’s, but it’s the club.
“That club has won more Champions Leagues than anybody else. It’s difficult to surpass Real Madrid as the biggest club in Europe.
“It’d be better if everyone ignored (the booing) and went on the fact that Liverpool have won the league.”

Alladyce’s opinion on Alexander-Arnold’s departure is bizarre
While some Liverpool fans may be grateful to Alexander-Arnold for his career at Anfield, few will be happy to see him go.
The academy graduate has been living every supporter’s dream and had a chance to become a legend in Merseyside.
Instead, he has chosen to leave this all behind and join a club that Liverpool will no doubt be competing for the Champions League title next season.
It is hard to see where Allardyce is coming from, and his opinion will only enrage fans further.
While the booing of the England international will not help matters, many supporters have a right to be angry with the 26-year-old.
