Szoboszlai told he’ll be next to leave Liverpool as Anfield footage emerges
Liverpool fans are up in arms over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s upcoming move to Real Madrid, and one of his teammates has now been caught in the crossfire of their fury.
Alexander-Arnold was heavily booed as he came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Anfield, much to the surprise of many.
Liverpool fans have been criticised in the media for their treatment of the right-back, who has won every possible trophy at Anfield, and even his teammates looked shocked.
Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was particularly disturbed by the booing directed at Alexander-Arnold, and Liverpool fans have now furiously responded to his reaction.
Liverpool fans slam Szoboszlai after Alexander-Arnold booing
Footage emerged on social media of Szoboszlai reacting furiously towards fans following the draw at Anfield, in which he can be seen shaking his head and raising his arms.
Fans are not happy with the Hungarian as a result, and there has now been a lot of anger directed towards the midfielder, despite his impressive campaign as Liverpool won the Premier League.
Some fans on X have even called for Szoboszlai to leave as a result, with some furious that he does not understand why the supporters are so angry with Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold situation could undo Liverpool goodwill
During Jurgen Klopp’s reign, Liverpool players and fans formed a connection which had not been seen in the years prior to his arrival.
This connection was a special one, and it played a huge part in their success under the German, but it was not easily built.
Despite winning the Premier League, this situation between fans and the players over Alexander-Arnold threatens to undo a lot of the good work spent creating the bond over the last few years.
Fans are furious at the defender, and they will continue to be no matter what pundits or players say in their defence, and should more of the squad question their reaction, they may find themselves losing popularity with the supporters.
Liverpool will hope that once Alexander-Arnold leaves, there will be a more positive atmosphere around the club, but this whole situation did put a dampener on what should have been a day of celebration at Anfield.
