Ally McCoist destroys Liverpool fan for ‘ridiculous’ claim live on talkSPORT
Liverpool have had plenty to cheer about this season, getting their hands on the Premier League trophy at Arne Slot’s first time of asking.
However, the atmosphere at Anfield on Sunday (11 May) was a sour one as the Reds threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Arsenal.
Furthermore, after his announcement of an exit from Merseyside at the end of the campaign, Trent Alexander-Arnold was met by boos when he was brought on as a substitute.

Since the announcement of Alexander-Arnold’s exit, the mood at Anfield has not been too happy, with many supporters upset by the move.
Due to the right-back being a free agent in the summer, his boyhood club will not make any money from his exit.

Real Madrid is the expected destination, and the Spanish giants could cough up some cash to gain Alexander-Arnold’s services in time for the Club World Cup.
However, there is no guarantee that it will happen, and it will be a seriously reduced amount compared to what a transfer fee would be.
With that in mind, plenty of those in Red showed their feelings to the 26-year-old on Sunday, which has sparked plenty of debate.
One Liverpool supporter called talkSPORT to defend the actions of his fanbase, saying: “He’s a traitor. I don’t think when he’s retired that he can come back and talk about when he won two Premierships and a Champions League, those days are gone.”
Gabby Agbonlahor was having none of this as he said: “I think you’re out of line, you’re out of line.”
Ally McCoist doubled down on that as he added: “Lee, I’ve got to say mate, I don’t agree. I think the word traitor is a ridiculous word to use.
“I can understand your frustration, but I think the word traitor certainly is absolutely ridiculous.”
Liverpool have to keep their minds focused
You can certainly understand the frustration of some of the Liverpool supporters over the way that Alexander-Arnold is leaving Anfield, but the boos on Sunday certainly seemed to put the players off.
Therefore, now that the fans have made their feelings clear, they need to switch back to focusing on supporting the squad and pushing them forward in the final weeks of the season.
In what has been such a great campaign, there is no need for the entire mood to be ruined at Anfield, and celebration should certainly remain at the forefront, rather than anything else.
Although one man is leaving, plenty of the squad are staying put and the atmosphere cannot be allowed to affect them negatively too.
