Alexander-Arnold ‘risks Real Madrid embarrassment’ after major Sky Sports update
Trent Alexander-Arnold has sparked fury at Liverpool after announcing that he will leave at the end of the season, and fans have had their say.
Liverpool drew 2-2 with Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, but the biggest story from the game was the reception the defender received from the home fans.
Alexander-Arnold was heavily booed by the Anfield faithful, in his first home appearance since announcing his departure, and he will leave Liverpool on bad terms.
The England international is expected to join Real Madrid once he departs Liverpool, but he may now face an awkward situation ahead of the summer.

Alexander-Arnold may not join Real Madrid for Club World Cup
Liverpool won the Premier League with ease this season, but after falling out of the cups, they have nothing else to play for this season.
The Reds did not qualify for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the USA this summer, but Real Madrid, alongside sides including Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan, will participate.
There was talk of Real Madrid paying Liverpool to sign Alexander-Arnold early, so he could feature in the tournament, but this may no longer happen, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
“Real Madrid have still not made an offer to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold early a week after contacting Liverpool to ask about the right back playing for them in the Club World Cup next month,” he posted on X.
“Alexander-Arnold announced last Monday that he would be leaving Liverpool when his contract expires on 30 June.

“He is joining Real Madrid as a free agent but they want him to move at the start of June so he can play in FIFA’s new expanded month-long 32-team tournament.
“Madrid need to make an offer to sign the player early if they want him to feature in their group games in the United States.
“They called Liverpool last Monday evening within hours of Alexander-Arnold’s 10am departure announcement. They discussed his early release but did not make an offer.”
Alexander-Arnold should leave Liverpool early
The reception Alexander-Arnold received against Arsenal shows that he is clearly no longer welcome at the club, and will not receive any sort of farewell.
Despite winning the title, Liverpool fans were in a furious mood when he came on, and some believe Arne Slot should not have spoiled the atmosphere by electing to use him.
Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold would both benefit from him featuring at the Club World Cup, and if Liverpool receive money for him, all parties would happily cut ties before the tournament begins in June.
If Alexander-Arnold has to wait until July before his move, he faces further embarrassment if he features for Liverpool again, and would also miss out on the chance to win another trophy in his career.
