Liverpool told to sell Konate after contract updates emerges – ‘Please leave’

Ibrahima Konate is the latest Liverpool star to leave supporters concerned about his contract situation.

The French international’s deal at Anfield expires in the summer of 2026 and there has been a lack of progress on fresh terms to extend his stay on Merseyside.

Fans are concerned that the 25-year-old could leave on a free like Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to do, with a move to Real Madrid widely expected to be on the cards.

Konate update emerges at Liverpool

Losing Konate would be a major blow for the Reds, as he is one of the best centre-backs in world football.

A report from Jorge Picon (11 May) claims that Real Madrid are interested in the Frenchman and are willing to wait to sign him on a free transfer.

It states that Arne Slot‘s side are determined to renew the 14-cap international, so it would be a hard deal for Los Blancos to complete.

Liverpool fans rage at new Konate development

It is safe to say that Reds supporters have been scarred by the events of the past week, concerning their homegrown star and they are raging at the latest development as they cannot stand the thought of losing another key player to the Spanish giants.

The L4 outfit have been urged to sell the former RB Leipzig ace if he does not agree on a new deal before the transfer window starts.

Fenway Sports Group need to do everything that they can to keep Konate, he has finally banished his injury issues after a tough couple of seasons and is an ideal successor to lead the defence when Virgil van Dijk eventually departs.

They surely cannot let another star man leave on a free transfer to the Spanish capital, it is unfathomable, especially when they have been beaten in two Champions League finals by them and are constantly up against them in European competition.

There is still plenty of time for the Merseysiders to come to terms with the ex-Sochaux man, supporters will be praying that they can, so the 15-time European Champions do not pull off the same trick that they did with the England star.
