Liverpool ratings v Arsenal – Gravenberch terrible with 4/10, 8/10 ace superb

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Arsenal on Sunday in their first game back at Anfield since winning the Premier League title.

Arne Slot’s men survived an early scare when Bukayo Saka missed a key opportunity to put the Gunners ahead.

But early nerves were soon put to bed when quick-fire goals from Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz established a 2-0 lead for Liverpool.

Gakpo headed home after being picked out by Andy Robertson’s expertly placed cross, while Diaz simply couldn’t miss from close range when he was found by Dominik Szoboszlai’s pass.

But Arsenal got themselves back in the game when Gabriel Martinelli reduced his side’s deficit at Anfield to 2-1 early on in the second half.

The Gunners then found their equaliser via Mikel Merino’s header, after he pounced on the rebound with a diving header.

Merino was subsequently sent off after being shown his second yellow card of the afternoon.

Robertson thought he had won the game for the Reds just shy of the final whistle, but the goal was disallowed for a foul by Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool News hands out the Reds player ratings as Slot’s men clinched their 26th win of the Premier League season.
