Liverpool fans turn on Mohamed Salah as ‘shots fired’ – ‘Wow’

Mohamed Salah has stirred controversy among the Liverpool fanbase just days after helping the Reds clinch the Premier League title.

The Egypt international has played a key role in Liverpool‘s road to Premier League glory this season, bagging 28 goals and 18 assists in 35 games.

With that, the 32-year-old has staked a claim to be one of the biggest legends in the Premier League club’s history.

This is why the news about Salah putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract to extend his stay at Anfield until 2027 was celebrated unanimously by the Reds faithful.

Salah admits tension with Sadio Mane

However, things have not always been smooth sailing for Salah at the Merseyside-based club.

While the former Chelsea ace forged a stunning partnership with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, there appeared to be some amount of friction between the two Africans.

At times, Mane made no secret of his frustration with Salah when he failed to play a pass to him during games.

Liverpool also left Senegal fans infuriated after they did not publicly celebrate Mane’s triumph in 2022, seemingly out of respect to Salah, whose Egypt fell short in the final.

The Liverpool superstar has now admitted that there was indeed tension between him and Mane during their time together at Liverpool.

However, he insisted that the pair remained professional and committed towards achieving the Reds’ goals together.

Liverpool fans slam ‘selfish’ Salah

Salah’s comments, though, have led to some fans turning on him.

Many supporters maintain that the Egyptian was indeed selfish while Mane was at the club, with one fan claiming that it even cost the Reds trophies.

One particular supporter was stunned that the Ballon d’Or competitor decided to lift the lid on his relationship with the Al-Nassr ace now.

Meanwhile, some pointed out how Roberto Firmino acted as the ‘glue’ between the two African superstars.

However, not everyone was against Salah, as one fan claimed that Mane was not happy about his teammate getting all the limelight.

Despite all that, it is worth noting that Mane has not played more games with any other player than Salah.

The pair also combined to score 35 goals for Liverpool, which is more than Mane has combined with any other teammate during his career.
