Liverpool fans now convinced as £51m Arsenal deal set to be completed
Liverpool won the Premier League title with ease this season, but it may not be such a simple task to retain it next year.
Arne Slot triumphed in his first season in charge despite a limited first transfer window at the club, and he will now look to add to his squad.
Liverpool succeeded by getting the best out of players they already had, with Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch among the players enjoying their best seasons on Merseyside.
There was one signing Liverpool wanted to complete last summer, but a Premier League rival has now pipped them to it.

Liverpool fans fume as Arsenal sign Martin Zubimendi
A deal has now reportedly been agreed for Arsenal to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who was the subject of strong interest from Liverpool last summer.
Zubimendi rejected Liverpool despite the two clubs agreeing a deal last year, but will now join Arsenal for around £51 million.

Liverpool fans have now taken to X to express their fury at the Spain international, but most are convinced he made the wrong choice to reject a move to Anfield last year, and are happy with Gravenberch as their option instead.
Gravenberch development means Liverpool do not need Zubimendi
Although Liverpool would have signed Zubimendi in an ideal world last summer, the incredible development of Gravenberch as a defensive midfielder solved their issue in the position.
Gravenberch ended up becoming one of Liverpool’s best players, and had they signed the Spaniard, the former Bayern Munich star may have not excelled.
Zubimendi missed out on winning the title this season, and fans are clearly convinced that he will regret not moving to Anfield.
Liverpool may still want cover for Gravenberch, but they no longer need to prioritise a starting-quality defensive midfielder such as Zubimendi in the summer.
Stefan Bajcetic is set to be given an opportunity in pre-season, and he could cover for Gravenberch next season, with a big-money signing at the base of midfield no longer a necessity.
Had he been willing to join, Zubimendi would have made a fine addition, but Liverpool may now use those funds on other targets, and will now be content after losing out on him a year ago.
