Jamie Carragher makes ‘jaded’ admission as Liverpool v Arsenal prediction made
Jamie Carragher has predicted the result of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Arsenal on Sunday.
Liverpool will be relaxed when they face rivals Arsenal at Anfield on 11 May, having already clinched the Premier League title.
The Gunners, on the other hand, will be forced to give the Merseyside-based club a guard of honour just days after being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.
Therefore, nobody is really sure what to expect when the two sides lock horns in their third-last game of the season this weekend.

Carragher predicts Liverpool v Arsenal result
Carragher has been speaking about Arsenal ahead of their trip to Liverpool, hitting out at Mikel Arteta for what he said about the Reds’ title triumph.
The Sky Sports pundit has now made his prediction for Sunday’s clash at Anfield, tipping his former employers to claim all three points on this occasion.
Teams | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goal Difference | Points | Form |
1. Liverpool | 35 | 25 | 7 | 3 | 46 | 82 | LWWWL |
2. Arsenal | 35 | 18 | 13 | 4 | 33 | 67 | DDWDL |
He believes the North London giants will be ‘jaded’ and ‘despondent’ after crashing out of the Champions League following a 3-1 loss to PSG on aggregate in the semi-final.
Therefore, he predicted a 2-1 win in favour of the hosts on Sunday, although he still expects the game to be tight.
“Arsenal will be jaded and despondent after their midweek exit of the Champions League in Paris, so I am expecting a narrow Liverpool win”, Carragher wrote in his prediction for Super6.
Slot eyes win at Anfield
It was evident that Liverpool have taken their foot off the pedal after clinching the title, as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the Reds were not at their best again when Arsenal travel to Anfield on Sunday.
However, Slot may also be determined to return to winning ways after the loss against Chelsea last weekend.
Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw with Arsenal when they travelled to the Emirates Stadium earlier this season.
They could now strengthen their status as the Premier League champions with a win against their closest competitors.
