Manchester United will help Harvey Elliott leave Liverpool in shock £40m deal

Liverpool could be set for major changes in the transfer window this summer, and some big names may depart the Anfield club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed that he will leave, while several attacking players could be ruthlessly axed despite securing the Premier League title.

Darwin Nunez has been linked with an exit, and more could follow as Arne Slot looks to rebuild his attack.

Questions are now being raised over the future of Harvey Elliott, and there is now a chance that he leaves, given his lack of regular starts.

Wolves want to sign Elliott from Liverpool

Elliott has started just one Premier League game this season, which came in Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea in their last match.

The 22-year-old has struggled to break into the side under Slot, and Liverpool strengthening their attack this summer will see him fall further down the pecking order.

TalkSPORT has now reported that Wolves are interested in signing Elliott this summer, and that Liverpool value him at around £40million.

Manchester United are interested in Matheus Cunha, and the Brazilian moving to Old Trafford will give Wolves the funds to sign Elliott from Liverpool.

Liverpool could consider Elliott sale

Although Elliott has provided some big moments, including the winning goal away at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this season, at 22, he has not kicked on in the last few years.

The Englishman has two years remaining on his contract, and Liverpool have the chance to secure maximum value from his sale.

Another season on the bench would make this less possible, with his value set to fall without regular game time.

Elliott has made 144 appearances for Liverpool, but just 70 of those came from the start, and the Reds may now need to make a ruthless decision.

Liverpool sold another promising talent in Fabio Carvalho last summer, and the decision paid off as he has struggled to make an impact at Brentford since.

They could now repeat this with Elliott, who could be keen on a move given that he does not look set to break into the starting XI anytime soon.
