Liverpool pre-season plan emerges for sensation who has ‘massively improved’

Liverpool have secured the Premier League title with weeks to spare, and are already planning ahead for next season.

Arne Slot has won the title in his first season in the Premier League, and has helped Liverpool get the best out of a lot of players in his squad.

Slot plans to rotate for Liverpool’s final few games of the season to give more fringe players opportunities, and pre-season will also see several young players get their chance to impress.

Liverpool also had several top talents out on loan this season, and a plan has now emerged for one of them.

Liverpool to hand opportunity to Stefan Bajcetic

One of Liverpool’s highest-rated academy talents is Spanish midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who has had a whirlwind season out on loan.

Bajcetic initially joined Red Bull Salzburg in Austria last summer to work with former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders, but the 20-year-old struggled before Lijnders was eventually dismissed from his role.

He then moved to La Liga side Las Palmas in January, and has since thrived in his native Spain, with the midfielder impressing as they battle relegation.

The Athletic have now reported that Slot is set to assess Bajcetic in pre-season once he returns from Las Palmas, as his “fortunes have improved” at Las Palmas.

A few months of regular minutes has done wonders for Bajcetic, and a decision will be made once Slot has watched him in pre-season.

Bajcetic can save Liverpool a lot of money

Liverpool are in the hunt for a defensive midfielder who can rotate with Ryan Gravenberch, but if Bajcetic impresses Slot, he can save the Reds a lot of money.

Bajcetic could serve as a squad player to step in for or even play alongside Gravenberch if trusted by Slot, but this may not be the best move this summer.

More regular game time out on loan could serve Bajcetic well before returning as a first-team player in another year, but if he really impresses then this plan can be fast-tracked.

Liverpool tried to sign Martin Zubimendi last summer, and Bajcetic can provide an alternative internal solution which could save the Reds millions in the transfer market.
