Ex-Everton ace mocked live on air after Liverpool prediction
Liverpool surprised many observers by winning the Premier League.
Arne Slot has taken English football by storm in his first season on Merseyside after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the dugout.
The Reds’ historic season has left many pundits with egg on their faces and a former Everton ace was mocked live on air after his prediction was revisited.

Liverpool make Leon Osman look silly
Liverpool were not expected to contend for the title this early in Slot’s reign, it was widely anticipated that it would be a struggle.
However, they have exceeded expectations and wrapped up the competition with four matches left to play after the 5-1 win over Tottenham on 27 April.
Former Blues star Osman was mocked on the BBC (3 May) for his prediction that did not have the L4 outfit finishing in the top four.
Alex Scott ribbed the former Goodison man, saying: “I think over 30 pundits, not one said Liverpool would be crowned champions and you didn’t even have them in your top four.”
Osman responded: “I just thought it would be a tough transition, I really did, maybe I hoped more than anything else.”
Slot can go even further with Liverpool
Slot has overseen a remarkable campaign that has seen his side lose just two times in the league on their way to the title.
There is every chance that he can lead the Merseysiders to further success next season, if he is backed in the transfer market by Fenway Sports Group as much as he is expected to be.
Premier League | Played | GD | Points |
C. Liverpool | 34 | +48 | 82 |
2. Arsenal | 34 | +34 | 67 |
They are understood to be in the market for a new left-back, with Milos Kerkez being heavily-linked and also a new forward, with the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres among rumoured targets.
The expectations that the Dutchman would struggle were fair, he had no experience in the English game and there were questions over how the players would respond to his management.
However, they will need to be readjusted after the historic season at Anfield, especially if he is allowed to add to his squad significantly in the window.
The Reds have re-signed Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new two-year deals, which will only serve to heighten their chances of at the very least retaining their title, if not doing even better.
It promises to be an exciting summer, and surely pundits like Osman will not write off the champions ahead of the new season.
