Ange Postecoglou’s side bounced back from that hammering with a 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt to put one foot in the final of Europe’s second-rate competition and the Anfield faithful would like them to go all the way to deny a rival.

Arne Slot’s side wrapped up a 20th league title to go level with arch-rivals Manchester United in the all-time standings.
However, United could still taste success despite sitting 14th in the league as they beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 on the road to all but confirm their place in the final.
The idea of the Red Devils winning a trophy, gaining a place in the elite European competition again and potentially overshadowing the Reds’ success is not one that would go down well.
Tottenham could do Liverpool a huge favour
Spurs seem best placed to deny United the trophy, considering their advantage from the first leg of the semi-finals.
Reds supporters may be cheering Postecoglou’s side on when they travel to Norway for the return leg on 8 May, given the implications it could have for Ruben Amorim’s side.
The Lilywhites have beaten the Old Trafford outfit on all three occasions that the sides have met this season, so fans of the Merseysiders would be confident that they could get the job done in the Bilbao showcase.
Another aspect for Reds is the fact that the North Londoners could secure a trophy and Arsenal could fail to do so, if they are knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the Emirates.
The Gunners’ supporters have been locked in social media debates all season with the L4 outfit’s fans and many supporters would find it hilarious if their rivals won something and they did not.
Ultimately though, the idea of denying United a trophy win and condemning them to the worst season in recent memory is the most tantilising prospect.
