Liverpool star Salah labelled ‘a disgrace’ after what he did inside Anfield

Mohamed Salah has spearheaded Liverpool to their second Premier League title in five years with a remarkable campaign.

The Egypt international has notched a stunning return of 28 goals and 18 assists in 34 top-flight outings this season.

It was fitting that the 32-year-old got himself on the scoresheet when the Reds hammered Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday to clinch Premier League glory.

Salah will now hope to trouble former club Chelsea when he returns to Stamford Bridge on 4 May.

Salah called out over selfie he took as Liverpool beat Tottenham

When Salah scored Liverpool’s fourth goal against Spurs on Sunday, he celebrated by taking a selfie on a supporter’s phone.

Jamie O’Hara was left fuming by the forward’s actions and told talkSPORT [28 April, 10.08pm]: “The selfie was a disgrace. When I saw that… it just sums up where we are.”

O’Hara is wrong to criticise Salah over selfie

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has done a remarkable job guiding the Reds to the Premier League title in his first season in charge of the Merseyside giants.

Salah is enjoying an exceptional season

The Anfield faithful were finally able to celebrate seeing their side win the top-flight title for the first time in 35 years, as their last Premier League triumph in 2020 arrived amid the COVID pandemic.

Salah has stood out as one of the best players in world football this term, and the selfie he took was a simple show of joy with his adoring fans.

Furthermore, Liverpool pulled themselves level with bitter rivals Manchester United on 20 top-flight titles, further adding to the celebrations on Merseyside.

Salah should not have been criticised by O’Hara for simply celebrating an iconic moment in the increasingly illustrious history of the Anfield club.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian is on course to make the most goal contributions by a Premier League player in a single campaign.
