Wayne Rooney makes Mo Salah admission outside Villa Park
Mohamed Salah has spearheaded Liverpool’s unrelenting Premier League title charge.
The Reds have suffered just two defeats in the top flight this season, epitomising their dominance, while a draw with Tottenham on Sunday would seal their trophy.
But the star of the show has been Salah, who has notched a remarkable return of 27 goals and 18 assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
However, the Egypt international has not scored for Arne Slot’s men since their 3-1 win over Southampton on 8 March, and will be eager to score when Liverpool look to wrap up their title against Spurs.

Wayne Rooney says Salah has been the best player in the Premier League this season
Wayne Rooney was asked by Amazon Prime Video Sport to name his top five Premier League players this season while standing outside Villa Park, and named Salah as his number one above Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, Morgan Gibbs-White and Bruno Fernandes.

The Manchester United legend added: “My number one pick would be Mo Salah. I think, over the last few years, his performance has been excellent, and this season again it looks like he’s going to spearhead Liverpool to the title.”
Rooney is spot on about Salah
The entire Liverpool squad deserve credit for the remarkable Premier League season they have had at Anfield this term under the increasingly impressive stewardship of Slot.
But Rooney is right to single Salah out as the best player in the top flight this season, as he has been in a league of his own as he has notched a stunning return of 45 goal contributions in the top tier.
Across all competitions, the 32-year-old has made an impressive return of 32 goals and 23 assists in 47 outings, further demonstrating his importance to the Merseyside giants.
The Anfield faithful were enormously grateful when Salah penned a new two-year contract with the Reds, eliminating the possibility of leaving Slot’s side on a free transfer this summer.
The Liverpool legend looks set to win the Premier League Golden Boot, while he has also created more assists in the division than anyone else.
