Liverpool ‘ready to seal Jarrad Branthwaite transfer’ in shock Everton swap

Liverpool have had an excellent season, but Arne Slot cannot get comfortable with plenty of work to do over the summer transfer window.

As the campaign is starting to draw to a close, Slot has pulled off some excellent transfer business already, having tied down Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk on extended contracts.

Nevertheless, with Arsenal and Manchester City expected to strengthen their squads significantly, the boss has to add to his side too, ensuring the ability to defend what is a likely 20th Premier League title.

Liverpool ready for huge Jarrad Branthwaite deal

As the list of names for the summer transfer window emerges, one man under consideration is Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been successful in troubled waters at Everton.

However, that automatically makes the possibility of a deal harder to strike, given the rivalry between the two Merseyside clubs.

The Reds may have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit ahead of the summer transfer window, though, with Goodison News sharing that Everton are interested in Jarell Quansah.

There has been interest in the defender from a range of clubs and reports have suggested that Liverpool would be prepared to let him go for £30million.

Slot’s men are not said to be keen on striking a deal with their rivals for the services of Quansah, but in the circumstances, it is interest that could suddenly give Liverpool some leverage to use.

Liverpool can eye swap deal with Everton

Naturally, neither side would be keen on striking a deal with the other in the summer transfer window as the Merseyside rivals do not want to see each other strengthen.

However, with an interest on both sides that could be met, there is no reason why a swap deal couldn’t be made working to the advantage of all interests.

Given how impressive Branthwaite’s form has been, Liverpool are not the only side interested, but if they are to let him go, then he will leave a big hole that needs replacing.

If David Moyes feels as though Quansah could fill that gap, while the Reds are after the Blues defender, surely the benefits of a deal soon outweigh the concerns on either side.

The current Everton centre-back is an exciting prospect in English football and as Slot looks to build a long-term successful side at Anfield, it is these younger talents that need to be on the books to ensure a more sustainable project.

It may take a little bit of extra change on the side, but this is a swap deal that ticks a lot of boxes.

With the players that have already committed their future to Liverpool, there is certainly an opportunity for Liverpool to attract many players to Anfield, which could put them in the driving seat here.
