Conor Bradley to leave Alexander-Arnold sat on bench at Liverpool this season

Liverpool must play Conor Bradley every week between now and the end of the season.

Only five fixtures are remaining this season for Arne Slot’s men, and just one victory would confirm the Reds as Premier League champions for the 2024-25 campaign.

That is something that the Merseyside giants could achieve as soon as this Sunday (27 April) when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

Following on from that, the games would have zero pressure on them, other than finishing on as many points as possible, and that’s why Slot needs to give Bradley as many opportunities as possible.

Bradley next in line at Anfield

The 21-year-old right back has been working his way into the Liverpool side throughout the past couple of seasons, but it is during this campaign that he has proven his quality.

Now that it is widely expected that Trent Alexander-Arnold is leaving Anfield in the summer transfer window, Bradley should be given the opportunity to secure his shirt.

Bradley has typically played when Alexander-Arnold has been injured or rested, but at this point in time, Slot has to think about the future for the Reds.

While there’s no doubt that Alexander-Arnold is the better player at this point in their careers, if he’s not going to be there past this summer, it makes no sense to start him every week.

Sure, Alexander-Arnold will want to say goodbye to the fans, but that’s something he can do from the bench or on the final day of the campaign.

Liverpool need to plan for next season

There is a chance that Liverpool will be looking to buy a new right-back during the summer transfer window, but many supporters would like to see a young player be given the chance to develop and take that position.

Bradley has shown that he has the qualities of being able to step up to that level, and a consistent run until the end of the season would allow Slot to see if he’s ready.

This could potentially allow Slot to splash the cash in other areas of the team during the summer, which would be beneficial to the squad overall.
