Richard Keys ripped to shreds over Liverpool comment live on air
Richard Keys has been slammed after his comments about Liverpool following their 1-0 win over Leicester on Sunday.
The Reds took a huge step towards the Premier League title with victory at the King Power Stadium (20 April).
The Anfield outfit now require just one more win to seal the trophy after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strike proved to be the difference against the relegation strugglers.

Liverpool title domination diminished by Keys
One of the main criticisms levelled at Arne Slot‘s side is that is has been a weak league and that is the reason that they have won it.
Keys has been a very vocal believer of that idea and doubled down on it after the win over Leicester left the Anfield outfit on the verge of a 20th title.
Speaking on BeIN SPORTS (20 April), Keys said: “It hasn’t been a vintage season, there has been no challenge.”
However, former Reds star Jason McAteer responded: “Is that Liverpool’s problem? Liverpool only had to concentrate on what they have to do. Why have we got to demean the achievement by saying it has not been a great year?
“That is not Liverpool’s fault, Liverpool have been beaten twice, they can only do what is put in front of them week in, week out, and they have done it.”
🤔 Who has challenged Liverpool this season?

Slot deserves credit for Liverpool title win
It would take a disastrous collapse for the L4 outfit to lose it from here, with just three points needed from their final five matches.
To put their potential title win down to the fact that other teams have been poor is extremely disingenuous, they have simply been the best team in the country by a country mile.
Premier League | Played | GD | Points |
1. Liverpool | 33 | +44 | 79 |
2. Arsenal | 33 | +34 | 66 |
Jurgen Klopp had pretty much the same squad in contention until the final few weeks last season and if injuries had not have played their part, they could have won it.
As McAteer states, the Reds could only beat what is put in front of them, and they have only lost twice to Nottingham Forest in gameweek four and Fulham in gameweek 31.
Keys should recognise the fact that Slot’s side have been the best team this season, it has not been down to luck or other teams, they have won the league on merit.
The focus on how others have performed takes away from the brilliance that the Merseysiders have shown throughout the Dutchman’s first year in charge.
With the right investment in the summer from owners Fenway Sports Group, they could repeat the trick next campaign, especially after Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk signed new deals.
