Liverpool star Mohamed Salah on verge of doing something nobody has ever managed

Mohamed Salah is no stranger to setting records in his time at Liverpool.

The 32-year-old has committed his future to the Anfield club, signing a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2027 meaning that he will have time to break even more.

The Egyptian has notched 27 goals and 18 assists in the Premier League and needs just three contributions to break Alan Shearer’s record for a single season.

However, he could do something that no other player has ever done in the clash with Leicester City on Sunday (20 April).

Salah on verge of another Premier League record

Liverpool can take a step closer to the Premier League title with victory, but Salah may be looking for another personal milestone.

The Egypt international has scored in all five of the Reds’ matches against newly-promoted teams this season.

As per Opta, he could become the first player to score in six separate matches against promoted clubs in one season.

Liverpool needed to keep Salah

The Anfield faithful was relieved when it was announced that Salah had agreed on fresh terms with the Merseyside club.

The former Chelsea ace is still at the peak of his powers and has shown no sign of slowing down anytime soon despite his advancing age.

The idea that he could have left on a free transfer was unfathomable, and luckily, both parties came to an agreement rather than the winger plying his trade somewhere else, like in Saudi Arabia.

If Salah achieves the latest milestone, it will just add to the list of his great moments for the L4 outfit but the majority of the attention will be on the implications of the result on the title race rather than what the veteran has done.

Victory could take Arne Slot’s side to within one win of the title, or if Arsenal are defeated by Ipswich Town, the Merseysiders could wrap it up even earlier.

Salah has been a crucial part in their success this season and will hopefully guide the Anfield club to further success in the next campaign to further cement his legacy.
