Liverpool ‘have dream Nunez replacement lined up’, he’s on fire right now

Liverpool have already identified a replacement for Darwin Nunez if he leaves in the summer transfer window.

The future of the 25-year-old striker at Anfield is up in the air right now, as it is widely believed that the Reds are open to selling him this summer.

There were even reports that Nunez was going to be offered to Newcastle United in a player plus cash deal for Alexander Isak, but that’s something that the Magpies are unlikely to go for.

The Uruguay international originally joined Liverpool in 2022 for an initial fee of £64million, with add-ons taking that fee up to a whopping £85million.

However, Nunez has struggled to find the right number of goals and assists to repay that fee, with his performances being inconsistent at best during his time at Anfield.

That is why Arne Slot is ready to part ways with him after just one season working for the Merseyside giants, as he has seen enough in terms of quality and performance.

Liverpool are ready to replace Nunez

Slot wants a new look attack for next season, with several players such as Diogo Jota expected to find themselves on the chopping block after failing to win over their new manager.

According to Alan Nixon via his personal Patreon account (20 April), Liverpool are now lining up a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, which would be a huge statement for the Reds.

Even though Mohamed Salah has signed a new deal, the Reds still want to sign the Bees forward, which would ruin the transfer plans of several teams who are monitoring him.

The 25-year-old has impressed with his performances this season and has caught the attention of Liverpool scouts who have been to watch him several times throughout this campaign.

Liverpool are ready to splash the cash this summer

Liverpool might be set to win the Premier League, but Slot refuses for the team to just rest on that as he’s already looking at making several improvements across the squad.

It is believed that the Reds could spend up to £200million this summer on new players, with Slot looking to truly make his mark on the squad.

Brentford will want around £50m to consider selling Mbeumo, but if Nunez is sold, then Liverpool will be hoping that covers the bulk, if not all, of that fee.
