Liverpool ‘can finally sign Bowen from West Ham’ as Anfield exit now imminent

Arne Slot may have had a strong debut season with Liverpool, but the Dutchman will already be looking ahead to the summer transfer window.

The Reds are close to getting their hands on the Premier League trophy, facing minimal competition from elsewhere.

As contract issues are starting to be resolved at Anfield with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk staying put, Slot can now turn his attention to bringing in new faces.

Although Salah is going nowhere, the boss is still expected to need attacking reinforcement with the likes of Darwin Nunez expected to leave Merseyside.

Slot given bargaining chip in transfer hunt

One man who could be an addition to Slot’s men is Jarrod Bowen, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time now.

The 28-year-old has had another excellent season in the Premier League, despite being part of an underwhelming West Ham side.

Furthermore, having been deployed on the wing as well as up top to fill in for attacking injuries, means Bowen is well prepared to be a versatile player who could surely fit in at Anfield.

That being said, as Graham Potter looks to put a stamp on his management at West Ham, he will not be keen to let a star player go easily.

Thankfully for the Reds, it has been reported that the Hammers are interested in a move for Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer transfer window, which could prove to be a bargaining chip that Liverpool have to their advantage.

West Ham are also in a difficult position with PSR and a big-money sale could make a world of difference in keeping them sustainable.

If they can also benefit by getting a goalkeeper they are after in exchange, the deal may turn into one that the Irons would find hard to turn down.

Slot needs to strengthen his Liverpool side

Although plenty of pundits have been quick to say that Liverpool’s success this season has been based on Arsenal’s bad luck, losing just two Premier League games is no easy feat.

That being said, their title rivals are expected to strengthen ahead of next season and although two key player contracts have been resolved, other exits from Anfield will leave the boss with gaps in the side.

Having inherited a strong squad, the Dutchman hasn’t had too much to do in terms of transfers in his role so far and it will be interesting to see who he targets in the summer window.

Bowen is a proven quality player in the Premier League, and if a deal could be struck, it certainly wouldn’t feel like a risky one.

The key for Slot will be bringing in enough players who can have a strong impact on the team, allowing for another title push.
