Murphy blown away by ‘outstanding’ MOTD footage of Liverpool star v West Ham
Danny Murphy was stunned by what he saw as Liverpool secured a late 2-1 win against West Ham on Sunday.
The Reds looked to have thrown away three points at Anfield on 13 April when Andy Robertson scored an 86th-minute own goal.
Thankfully, Virgil van Dijk powered home a header just minutes later to secure a huge win to extend the gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
The result was just what Arne Slot needed, and it is fair to say that Murphy was left blown away by his former side at full time.

Murphy gushes over Mohamed Salah v West Ham
It has been a week of celebration on Merseyside, with Salah opting to sign a new contract after months of nervous waiting on the terraces.
This comes towards the end of a superb campaign, once again at Anfield, where he continues to defy expectations on the flank.
Stat (Premier League 24/25) | Mohamed Salah |
Appearances | 32 |
Goals | 27 |
Assists | 18 |
It is fair to say that his new deal didn’t negatively impact his performance against the Hammers, as the Egypt international showed his class early on.
The 32-year-old provided an assist for Luis Diaz’s opening goal with a superb outside-of-the-foot pass, which picked out the unmarked Colombian at the far post.
This left former Liverpool midfielder Murphy blown away on Match of the Day 2 (13 April) as he picked out the assist for particular praise.
He said: “Salah was outstanding in the first half an hour of the game. Look at this for a pass, weight, just beautiful. Brilliant finish.”

Salah shines for Liverpool once again
There is no surprise to anyone associated with the L4 club that the forward continues to showcase his excellence on a weekly basis.
Despite a lack of output from the likes of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, the Egyptian has stepped up and then some to push his side over the line.
This looks likely to culminate in a second Premier League title after Arsenal fell to a 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday (12 April).
It is no more than the former Chelsea man deserves, with the win against West Ham being the latest moment of quality to add to a long list this campaign.
