Robertson ‘furious’ with Virgil van Dijk after Liverpool win v West Ham
Andy Robertson was left fuming with Virgil van Dijk despite Liverpool sealing a late 2-1 win against West Ham on Sunday.
The Reds managed to take all three points from the game at Anfield, but the fixture wasn’t short of drama as Arne Slot’s men continue to make hard work of getting over the line in the Premier League.
Luis Diaz put Liverpool ahead in the 18th minute after a dominant start for the Reds, but West Ham grew into the match and caused Slot’s men a plethora of problems.
Liverpool were then thrust into a frantic and dramatic final 10 minutes after major miscommunication between Robertson and Van Dijk, which resulted in an own goal.

Robertson was made to look foolish at Liverpool
The Scotland international came on for Konstantinos Tsimikas in the 60th minute of the game in a bid to add some experience to see out their one-goal lead.
However, Robertson ended up firing the ball into the back of his own net in the 86th minute after he and Van Dijk failed to sort themselves out positionally.
A dangerous ball was played into the box, which the Liverpool captain appeared to leave to only kick against Robertson and into the net, leaving Alisson Becker with no chance.

The experienced duo appeared to almost tackle each other in the moment, and Robertson was visibly fuming with his teammate in the aftermath, which Jamie Carragher highlighted.
Speaking on Sky Sports Main Event (13 April, 15:44), Carragher said: “He’s furious, he’s not happy with Virgil van Dijk.
“The cross comes in, and it’s just a mess. You just see how furious Andy Robertson is, well, actually it’s Van Dijk, they almost tackle each other. You have to look back at communication, Andy Robertson’s got to be screaming at him, and when you see his reaction, maybe he was screaming at him.”

Virgil Van Dijk rescued the day
Van Dijk might have played a significant role in Liverpool conceding the equaliser, but he was the sole reason why the Reds ended up winning the game.
The club captain found the back of the net himself in the 89th minute of the game to win it for Liverpool, taking his team one step closer to Premier League glory.
Slot’s men now have a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League, and require just two more victories to win their 20th league title.
That could see the Merseyside giants wrap up the title before the end of this month, with an away game against Leicester being followed by a fixture against Tottenham at Anfield.
