Liverpool ‘could turn attention to West Ham gem if he passes Salah audition’

Liverpool will be in the market for reinforcements in the summer transfer window.

The Reds are keen to bolster their squad despite needing just three wins to wrap up the Premier League title.

One significant piece of business has already been done as Mohamed Salah has committed his future to the Merseyside club in the last few days.

The Egyptian winger will be looking to bounce back from a four-match barren spell in all competitions against West Ham on 13 April.

Oliver Scarles could catch Liverpool’s eye

The man who will be tasked with stopping Salah is 19-year-old Oliver Scarles, who has impressed since being thrust into the limelight under Graham Potter.

The England Under-20 international has made 14 appearances for the Hammers, with 13 of those matches coming this season.

The Anfield outfit are looking for a new left-back with Andy Robertson seemingly at the end of his time at the top level on Merseyside and have been linked with Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez.

However, Scarles could force himself onto their radar if he can stop the 32-year-old from adding to his impressive tally of 27 goals and 17 assists on Sunday.

Liverpool need a left-back, Scarles could be the answer

Given that the L4 outfit are set to spend a heavy sum on renewing Salah and Virgil van Dijk and need a right-back, left-back, a midfielder and an attacker in the summer, it could be a tough window to pull off.

The Irons starlet could be the answer to the champions-elect’s issue, as his signature would likely allow them to invest more in other areas of the squad.

The East London outfit holds all the cards, given that the player is contracted until 2028, with an option to extend that deal by a further year but he might be tempted by the chance to compete for the title and to play in the Champions League.

If the youngster keeps the Egypt international quiet, it may be worth trying to test the 2023 UEFA Conference League Winners’ resolve and see how much it would take for the Londoners to sell.
