Liverpool fans rage after what Kvaratskhelia did v Aston Villa – ‘Shameful’

Liverpool explored a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the winter transfer window but did not follow through on their interest.

The Reds were reportedly ready to make an opportunistic signing if the Georgian became available despite not actively looking for a winger.

The 24-year-old ended up moving to Paris Saint-Germain instead and he has enjoyed his time in the French capital so far, with four goals and four assists in 17 matches.

Liverpool could regret not signing Kvaratskhelia

Kvaratskhelia at Liverpool would have been great but they decided to not enter the race as they could not match the salary that the French outfit were offering.

Thye may come to regret that decision, as the Georgia international could become the best player in the world on the left wing.

He is already lighting up the Champions League in Paris and he secured a vital goal against Aston Villa that looks to have put the Parisians on their way to the semi-finals (9 April).

Kvaratskhelia failure leaves Liverpool fans livid

Kvaratskhelia’s signing could have been a transformative one, just like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson were to the Reds’ backline a few years ago.

Their attacking options have been underwhelming this season despite their lead at the summit of the Premier League, with only Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo regularly performing for the Anfield outfit.

The failure to sign the Georgian has left supporters reeling, especially after witnessing his display on the biggest stage against a domestic rival.

The likes of Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have all struggled in front of goal and Arne Slot is understood to want to upgrade his forward line in the summer window as he tries to achieve even more success.

The former Napoli star would have been the perfect option but a move is now out of the question given that he only recently joined PSG and they would not want to sell him.

Liverpool may look back on the decision not to sign him and regret it, if he achieves his potential in Paris and he looks like doing exactly that after his recent exploits.
