Liverpool ready to cash in as £85m Darwin Nunez exit claim made at Anfield
Liverpool will look to go one better after they win the Premier League this season, back in the hunt for a seventh top European honour.
A squad reshuffle will no doubt take place, especially considering the imminent exit of Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer to Real Madrid.
Mohamed Salah looks very likely to stay with a contract agreed, and Virgil van Dijk is making progress on his own new deal.
However, some players may have to be sacrificed from Arne Slot‘s squad at Anfield.

Darwin Nunez prime candidate to be sold, broadcaster says
Nunez currently has five goals and two assists in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, as well as eight yellow cards in his 24 appearances.
The Uruguayan international forward has often been maligned despite his decent enough relationship with the Kop since arriving in 2022.
Nunez, 25, joined the Reds for an initial £64million with add-ons potentially skyrocketing the fee payable to Benfica to £85million.
TV commentator Ian Darke, speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, has admitted Liverpool may look to recoup a “good portion” back to move the striker on this summer.
“I think if Liverpool could cash in on Nunez, they possibly would,” Darke said.
“He hasn’t delivered on a consistent basis. He seems to be well-loved by the fans, but if I’m honest, I’m not sure he’s someone you’d have in the regular starting line-up if everyone was fit.
“If they could get a good portion of their money back for him this summer, I’d expect they will explore it.”

Liverpool might not fancy Nunez next term
For the fee they paid, Liverpool aren’t getting the best out of Nunez – whose inconsistency in front of goal and sketchy rate of confidence doesn’t fill the fans with exactly that.
It could therefore be seen as a viable sale to raise funds, especially those they have missed out on with Alexander-Arnold as he walks out the door for nothing.

Nunez remains under contract until 2028 at Anfield, meaning a significant fee is still on the cards, but Liverpool are unlikely to bend over backwards to retain a player who despite his fond memories, has not been a reliable enough option.
