Jeremie Frimpong to be ‘amazing Liverpool signing’ after release clause reveal – Exclusive
Jeremie Frimpong has been touted as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool.
The Reds star has reportedly agreed a deal with Real Madrid to join the Spanish giants upon the expiry of his contract at Anfield at the end of the season.
However, both parties denied that any deal has been reached but speculation continues to thrive with no progress on a new deal on Merseyside.

Liverpool could secure ‘bargain deal’ for Frimpong
Liverpool’s interest in Frimpong makes sense as he has emerged as one of the best attacking right-backs in world football over the past few years.
He was a vital cog in the Bayer Leverkusen side that won the Bundesliga title under former Anfield ace Xabi Alonso, going unbeaten in the process.
Bundesliga expert Kevin Hatchard exclusively told Liverpool News how much the Reds would have to pay for the 24-year-old and how he would fit in at Anfield.
He said: “There have been persistent reports suggesting Frimpong has a release clause of €40million (£34m).
“Frimpong has excelled as a wing-back, a winger or even as a forward at Bayer Leverkusen, so it’s unclear whether playing him in a more traditional right-back role would actually get the best out of him.
“He has worked hard on his defending, but he’s still a super-attacking full-back, and if Mo Salah stays at Liverpool, I’m not sure how they would dovetail from a defensive standpoint.
“However, there are really positive things about Frimpong – he has improved in front of goal, he brings amazing energy to the pitch and the dressing-room, and he is always looking to improve.”

How do Frimpong and Alexander-Arnold compare?
Frimpong and Alexander-Arnold are very similar players as they are both very attacking-minded full-backs.
In terms of contributions, the Leverkusen man edges it this season, with four goals and five assists to the Reds star’s two goals and six assists.
Stats | Alexander-Arnold | Frimpong |
Matches | 28 | 27 |
Goals | 2 | 4 |
Assists | 6 | 5 |
Duels won | 90 (46.6%) | 83 (41.9%) |
Ground duels won | 3 (20%) | 12 (36.4%) |
In terms of their defensive abilities, they have similar numbers, with the Dutchman winning 41.9 per cent of his ground duels and 36.4 per cent of his aerial duels.
Meanwhile, the Three Lions star wins just 46.6 per cent of his ground duels and 20 per cent of his aerial duels.
Whether the Anfield outfit make their move for Frimpong if Alexander-Arnold departs probably depends on what Arne Slot wants from his next right-back, whether he wants a similar profile or a more defensively solid one.
