Fulham v Liverpool preview: Team news, head-to-head, prediction

Liverpool travel to Fulham on Sunday looking to continue their march towards the Premier League title.

The Reds are currently 12 points clear at the summit of the division with just eight matches left to play and time is running out for Arsenal to catch them.

Arne Slot‘s side will secure the crown if they win four and draw one of their last eight and could even have it wrapped up before they face the Gunners on 11 May.

The Reds come into the contest (6 April) full of confidence after returning to winning ways against local rivals Everton with a 1-0 win in the Merseyside derby on 2 April.

The Anfield outfit had won their last four in all competitions before suffering Champions League elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and losing the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle.

There were fears that they could capitulate in the title race after those results but they bounced back in a tense encounter against the Toffees.

Slot’s side need just 13 points as the maximum tally that Mikel Arteta’s side can reach is 85 points.

Fulham approach the contest with hopes of securing European football next season but those ambitions suffered a setback with the 2-1 loss to Arsenal (1 April).

Marco Silva’s side have won just two of their last seven in all competitions and the league leaders will be looking to compound their misery on Saturday.

Team News

Liverpool could welcome back Alisson and Conor Bradley for the contest after they missed the Everton victory.

However. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton will not be available for selection in West London.

Slot could decide to go with the same front three that downed the Blues with Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota potentially keeping their starting berths.

Meanwhile, Marco Silva will be without former Reds youth ace Harry Wilson, Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson for the clash.

He may decide to abandon the three at the back system that he tried against the Gunners and return to the four man defence that he is used to.

Predicted line-ups

Fulham: Leno, Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson, Berge, Lukic, Traore, Pereira, Iwobi, Muniz

Where to watch

The contest kicks off at 14:00pm GMT and will be screened live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event.

Prediction: Fulham 0-2 Liverpool

Fulham will likely put up a tough fight but Liverpool should have enough to overcome them on this occasion.

Slot’s side have an impeccable record away from home this season, as they are unbeaten on the road and they should continue that at Craven Cottage and take a step closer to the title.
