Liverpool new supercomputer title prediction made after Everton victory

Liverpool continued their march to the Premier League title with victory in the Merseyside derby over bitter rivals Everton.

Arne Slot’s side headed into the game at Anfield seeking revenge after the last encounter between the two sides, which saw James Tarkowski score a last-minute equaliser.

Tarkowski was the villain against Liverpool again, as he somehow avoided a red card for a brutal tackle on Alexis Mac Allister, but the home side had the last laugh.

Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the game in the second half to seal all three points for Liverpool, and their Premier League title chances have now been updated.

Liverpool on verge of Premier League title

Liverpool’s win in the Merseyside derby came after Arsenal beat Fulham, and it kept the Gunners at bay as they sit 12 points behind with eight games remaining.

Opta have now revealed that Liverpool have a 99.06 percent chance of winning the title, with Arsenal’s chances rated at 0.94 percent, and the rest of the Premier League completely ruled out.

Liverpool in the Premier League this season

Although Liverpool endured a tough week before the international break, as they crashed out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup, Slot’s side can almost relax knowing that they are on the verge of making history.

Liverpool have also been projected to finish the season on 89 points, 12 clear of Arsenal on 77 expected points, and it now appears that the Reds can secure glory within the next five matches.

Liverpool to win 20th top-flight title

Liverpool’s title victory is now a matter of when, not if, and this will be their first triumph since Jurgen Klopp ended a long drought in 2020.

This will be Liverpool’s second title of the Premier League era, and the second for some iconic players including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, immortalising them into English football history.

Liverpool will also draw level with Manchester United on 20 top-flight titles, and the club will be finely poised to overtake their bitter rivals in the coming years.

Slot’s team are now on the verge of securing what would be one of the most significant titles in Liverpool’s modern history, and they will hope that this is the first of many for the Dutchman.
