Liverpool star Kelleher sends message to Adrian after new developments
Liverpool are preparing themselves for Wednesday’s Merseyside derby with local rivals Everton.
Meanwhile, former Reds goalkeeper Adrian was involved in another notable derby on Sunday when he helped Real Betis defeat Sevilla.
The 38-year-old began his career with local club Betis before making his mark on the English game by moving to West Ham in 2013.
He spent six years with the Hammers before moving to Liverpool in 2019, and he subsequently re-joined Betis last summer.

Kelleher congratulates former Liverpool teammate Adrian
Adrian has made 10 La Liga appearances since re-joining Betis and helped his side beat Real Madrid 2-1 on 1 March.
But by far his most enjoyable outing for Manuel Pellegrini’s men so far this term arrived on Sunday when they beat arch-rivals Sevilla.
After his side’s notable victory, Adrian wrote on Instagram: “Real Betis Balompie” alongside a green heart.
Caoimhin Kelleher was among those to congratulate the 38-year-old, as he commented with two clapping hands emojis and a flame emoji.
Liverpool will be keen to get back to winning ways v Everton
Kelleher may be called into action when Liverpool clash with Everton at Anfield this Wednesday, after Alisson Becker suffered a head injury in Brazil’s recent win over Colombia and had to be substituted.
Premier League table (top two) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Liverpool | 29 | 42 | 70 |
2 Arsenal | 29 | 29 | 58 |
But regardless of who Arne Slot chooses between the sticks in midweek, the Reds should be particularly determined to beat the Toffees after their recent exit from the Champions League and Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle.
Furthermore, Slot’s men have not enjoyed a victory over Everton since October 2023 when Mohamed Salah’s brace secured a 2-0 win at Anfield.
Since then, Liverpool were beaten by Everton at Goodison Park last April before being held to an entertaining 2-2 draw on away soil back in February.
While the Reds hold a comfortable 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, they should be hungry for a triumph on Wednesday after their recent defeats away from the top flight.
