Liverpool ‘risk £25m howler’ as sensational Everton transfer could go through
Liverpool may have one hand on the Premier League trophy but thoughts are already shifting on to the summer transfer window.
The pressure is on Liverpool to perform to the same high standards and prove this season isn’t a fluke after suggestions that their success this term is based off Arsenal’s bad luck.
However, as the Reds look to strengthen, it could also mean players exiting Anfield, with Everton setting their eyes on one man.

Everton eyeing Liverpool ace Ben Doak
As the summer transfer window fast approaches, Liverpool may be looking at competition from across Merseyside when it comes to some players.
Although Arne Slot may be focused on the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, in the meantime, Everton are preparing a swoop for one of their neighbours.
According to Alan Nixon via his personal Patreon page (30 March), the Blues are ready to make a move for Ben Doak in the summer transfer window.
The report states that if the Toffees want to gain the services of Doak in the summer, in what is described as a possible “sensational” transfer, they will be required to meet a valuation of £25million.
While crossing from one side of the city to another is a rarity, David Moyes is said to be keen on the 19-year-old and hoping to make him an Evertonian.

Slot could be ready to part ways with Doak
Having spent the season on loan with Middlesbrough, Doak has had a strong season contributing to his loan side’s push for a play-off place in the second tier.
There is certainly a feeling that the attacker could manage the step up to the Premier League, but given the amount of talent in the Liverpool squad, he may have to wait longer to receive that call-up at Anfield.
Therefore, if the Reds could sell their young player and cash in on what he has to offer, it may not be a bad idea.

That being said, to lose a young talent to their neighbours who are likely to have a much more successful season next term, could be a howler for Slot’s side.
If the youngster is ready for the step up to the top flight, Liverpool should be focusing their attention on sending him to a club that is not a direct rival, given there are plenty of other suitors.
You can understand that Doak may want a move that brings him game time in the Premier League, but Liverpool do get a say over which side he would be strengthening and it certainly shouldn’t be their rivals.
