Liverpool have got Alexander-Arnold replacement – Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher has a plan for Liverpool to replace Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.

It is all but confirmed that the Liverpool full-back will be departing Anfield to join Real Madrid once the season ends and his contract expires.

Alexander-Arnold will leave the Reds on a free transfer, which is a situation that has left many Liverpool fans fuming with the hometown player.

Carragher himself has admitted he’s “disappointed” that Alexander-Arnold doesn’t think there is enough for him at Anfield when the club is fighting on all fronts each season for top silverware.

However, that appears to be the case for the England international, who has previously admitted the Ballon d’Or would be his greatest achievement over any team trophy.

Carragher believes Liverpool have Alexander-Arnold’s replacement

Replacing someone of Alexander-Arnold’s quality is going to be no easy task for Arne Slot, particularly when it comes to his passing range.

However, Carragher is adamant that all of Liverpool’s answers already exist within the squad in the form of Conor Bradley.

He told Sky Sports, “I think the way for Liverpool to go if Trent moves on is for Conor Bradley to be given his head.

“But also for Liverpool to buy maybe a utility player who can play across the back four.

“Maybe what Joe Gomez has been for Liverpool over the last few years, but unfortunately, he picks up a lot of injuries.

“So, I think Conor Bradley should be given his head, and Liverpool probably need to buy, to bring in a utility defender who can maybe play at centre-back and right-back.”

Liverpool may still need to replace two more players

There is a growing possibility that Alexander-Arnold won’t be the only player Liverpool needs to replace during the summer transfer window.

Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk’s futures remain unclear as both of their contracts are also set to expire at the end of this season, and there has been no positive news surrounding their situations.

However, it is believed that Alexander-Arnold’s departure isn’t going to have any impact on their futures or the decisions that they ultimately make.
