Van Dijk reacts after what Alexis Mac Allister did away from Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk has sent a message to Alexis Mac Allister after the Liverpool ace starred in the win over Brazil.

The Argentine midfielder was labelled as brilliant by the media in the display as La Albiceleste demolished their rivals to record a 4-1 victory.

The result meant that the World Cup winners have qualified for the next edition of the tournament in 2026 and leaves them 10 points ahead of their arch-rivals in the standings.

Van Dijk sends Mac Allister message after Argentina beat Brazil

Mac Allister shone away from Liverpool during the international break as he does on a regular basis with his performances often going under the radar.

He notched the third goal against Brazil with a lob over the goalkeeper from Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez’s stunning pass.

The 26-year-old took to Instagram after the contest to send a message to supporters, saying: “Victory at home, goal and the biggest joy on the way.”

“Let’s go Argentina!”

Van Dijk responded by liking the post and Aston Villa ace Emi Martinez commented, saying: “Enjoy yourself.”

Liverpool need both players on top form

As the Reds return to action, Arne Slot needs both players to be in top form with a crucial nine-match run until the end of the season.

The Anfield outfit are in pole position for the Premier League title with a 12-point margin over Arsenal, who can finish on a maximum of 85 points.

Premier League title race.

That means that the L4 club needs 16 points, which is five wins and a draw in the run-in to wrap up a 20th title and draw level with Manchester United no matter what the London outfit do.

The Merseysiders face tough matches though with the likes of Everton, Tottenham, Chelsea and the Gunners still among their fixture list and they need to keep concentration levels high until their mission is complete.

Van Dijk must maintain his excellent levels marshalling the defence while Mac Allister needs to keep things ticking in midfield if the Reds are to hold off Mikel Arteta’s side as the season edges towards a conclusion.

They are two of the most influential players in the squad, if their levels drop, others may well follow suit, they must ensure that it does not happen.
