Bournemouth exit revelation emerges amid major Liverpool transfer talk

Liverpool are set for some major business in the summer transfer window.

With news emerging that Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to join Real Madrid, the Reds already have a lot of work to do, and they will likely need to sign multiple defenders.

Virgil van Dijk’s future is still unclear, with the legendary centre-back out of contract at the end of the season, and he would be near-impossible to replace.

And that’s led to Liverpool looking to Bournemouth for potential recruits.

Justin Kluivert hints at Dean Huijsen transfer amid Liverpool links

One key centre-back target has now emerged in Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen.

Huijsen was recently called up to the Spain squad, and impressed in his first two appearances as his side beat the Netherlands on penalties in the UEFA Nations League.

After the second leg of their tie at Mestalla Stadium, Huijsen’s Bournemouth teammate Justin Kluivert, who featured for the Netherlands, was asked about the centre-back’s future.

“I know that next year he won’t be with us,” Kluivert told MARCA when asked about Huijsen.

With Liverpool linked with the defensive sensation, his seemingly inevitable exit could point towards a summer move to Anfield.

Liverpool should sign Dean Huijsen regardless of Van Dijk future

Even if Van Dijk does not leave this summer, Huijsen should be on Liverpool’s shopping list regardless.

The 19-year-old is an outstanding prospect with a season of Premier League experience already under his belt, and he would bring a lot of quality to Liverpool’s back line in the short and long term.

If Van Dijk does stay alongside Ibrahima Konate, another top option is still needed, with the Dutchman getting older and Konate continuing to suffer from inconsistent injury problems.

Huijsen would then serve as the long-term replacement for Van Dijk, and should he end up playing alongside the veteran, he would be able to learn from him as he continues his development.

The Bournemouth defender is rumoured to have a release clause of around £49m in his contract, making him a potential bargain if he ends up becoming a long-term starter at Anfield.
